UPDATE: American Family Housing Announces First Annual Victories of Spirit Golf Classic

MIDWAY CITY, Calif., Aug. 30, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- American Family Housing (AFH) – a nonprofit organization that provides housing and services to low-income and homeless families and individuals – has announced its first annual “Victories of Spirit” Charity Golf Classic tournament. Held at Oak Creek Golf Club in Irvine, Calif., on Thursday, September 13, 2018, the event will benefit AFH housing and homelessness prevention initiatives for veterans, families and individuals.

The full-day event kicks off at noon with a shotgun start. The $300 individual fee includes 18 holes of golf, complimentary valet parking and lunch, one entry into the Longest Drive Contest, two drink tickets and two raffle tickets. The day concludes with a dinner recognizing four AFH individuals or families who have triumphed over seemingly insurmountable odds.

The golf tournament is part of AFH’s ongoing commitment to serving the Southern California community and its mission to end homelessness. During the tournament, participants will meet other community-minded players and celebrate the inspiring stories of AFH families and the veterans who now live at Potter’s Lane, where AFH repurposed shipping containers to house formerly homeless veterans.

“We are fervently committed to ending homelessness among veterans, and eventually homelessness, period,” said Milo Peinemann, AFH’s chief executive officer. “This event will allow us to support expanded homelessness initiatives for veterans, as well as families in their time of need.”

Pacific Premier Bank, headquartered in Irvine, CA, provides banking services to businesses and consumers throughout the US, and will serve as the title sponsor for the event as a continuation of its longstanding support for AFH.

“We are very grateful to our sponsors and especially to Pacific Premier Bank for its support of the Victories of Spirit event,” said Gary Crisp, golf co-chair and president and owner of Crisp Imaging in Costa Mesa. “With Manny Montanez, my co-chair, I am delighted to have been asked to lead this event and couldn’t pass up this opportunity to become engaged in the mission of American Family Housing.”
