MISSION VIEJO, Calif., Sept. 13, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MYnd Analytics, Inc. (NASDAQ: MYND), a market leader in improving the delivery of mental health through the combination of telemedicine and data analytics/augmented intelligence, today announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Arcadian Telepsychiatry Services LLC, has partnered with Sanford Health to provide telebehavioral health and telepsychiatry services through Arcadian’s provider network for Sanford Health’s network of outpatient primary care practices.
Sanford Health is an integrated health system headquartered in the Dakotas, and is one of the largest not-for-profit health care systems in the nation with 44 hospitals and 300 clinics in nine states and nine countries. The program is expected to initially launch with primary care practices in Iowa and South Dakota followed by Minnesota and North Dakota.
Telebehavioral health and telepsychiatry involve the use of video conferencing equipment to conduct real-time mental health consultations between a clinician and a patient. The program is designed to improve access to care for patients, especially those in underserved markets, as well as reduce waiting times. The program is also designed to reduce interruptions in the patients’ daily lives, helping patients better manage their symptoms and reduce lost time from work.
“Telehealth services are increasingly critical to serving patients across Sanford Health’s footprint,” said Allison Suttle, M.D., Sanford Health chief medical officer. “To be able to offer telebehavioral health and telepsychiatry services will help patients access those services with limited disruptions to their daily activities.”
Robert Plotkin, CEO and Founder of Arcadian, stated, “We look forward to working closely with Sanford Health and rolling out our telebehavioral health services across their network. These services are ideally suited for Sanford’s affiliated outpatient primary care practices, many of which are located within rural and suburban markets. Over eighty-nine million Americans live in federally designated Mental Health Professional Shortage Areas and two-thirds of US primary care physicians report not having adequate access to psychiatric care for their patients. Through this offering, we can now offer individuals living in underserved areas with improved access to care, helping primary care physicians move towards a true collaborative care model with psychiatrists.”
