Paramus, NJ, Oct. 17, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Association of Water Companies (NAWC) named David Stanton, President of SUEZ in North America’s Utility Operations and Federal Services, the next Chairman of its board of directors. The announcement was made at the association’s annual Water Summit in San Antonio, Texas, and Stanton will assume the new role on January 1, 2019.

“We are fortunate to have David lead our Board of Directors as we engage with municipalities, regulators and decisionmakers looking for solutions to water-related challenges, including aging water infrastructure and limited financial resources,” said Robert F. With NAWC at an inflection point, David’s strong leadership will be pivotal to continuing to move the association in the right direction.”

Stanton brings with him over 25 years of experience in the water industry. He is currently responsible for the operations and management of privately-owned water and wastewater businesses that serve more than 2.5 million people in the United States.  Since joining SUEZ, Stanton has been instrumental in implementing large-scale, Smart Utility initiatives that have enhanced service to customers, including advanced metering networks, workforce management programs, real-time digital water quality sensors and an innovative web experience.

“I look forward to advocating for policies that ensure NAWC members can be as effective as possible in addressing our nation’s most important water needs, as well as highlighting the important role NAWC members already play in providing safe and reliable water service to 73 million Americans,” said Stanton. “Together we will continue to shine a light on the considerable contributions, including expertise, investment and technological advances, that water companies bring to communities across the nation.”
