Now exclusively on Meural Canvas powered by NETGEAR, 350 works by the beloved American painter join the Meural Library
NEW YORK, Nov. 15, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Meural, a digital canvas and smart art frame powered by NETGEAR, is overjoyed to announce that it is the first and only digital frame partner for the celebrated illustrator of the famed Saturday Evening post, Norman Rockwell. As part of the agreement with Curtis Publishing, licensors of the Saturday Evening Post archive, Meural today becomes the exclusive way to bring Rockwell’s art from the archives to your wall. Meural, the creative engine behind development of the patented smart art frame, maintains an art library of 30,000 revolving works of art. With the addition of Norman Rockwell to Meural’s extensive artist roster, Meural continues to advance the goal of bringing the world’s most beloved artists to homes around the world.
To celebrate today’s official induction of this American Master into the library, Meural will release Rockwell’s iconic “Four Freedoms” series, which has been optimized for the Meural Canvas. Further highlights from the licensing of this archive include his painting of Ruby Bridges, “The Problem We All Live With,” which will be featured on the anniversary of the historic day Bridges integrated her public school, as well as spotlights on sports, holidays, and Rockwell’s famous fictional WWII solider, Willie Gillis. The partnership includes enriched editorial content centered around key moments, which will contextualize Rockwell’s legacy, and dive into the stories behind the Saturday Evening Post covers that gave the celebrated artist his name. New playlists from the 350 works will roll out on a weekly basis over a period of several months.
“Rockwell is a true American icon, and we’re proud that The Saturday Evening Post archive has deemed the Meural Canvas a worthy format for displaying and sharing his life’s work,” said Meural Co-Founder Vladimir Vukicevic. “Arriving in time for the Thanksgiving holiday, Norman Rockwell’s art inspires feelings of warmth, nostalgia, family, and home. This partnership will enable Meural to now bring those sentiments to our community wherever they may be this holiday season.”
"Our job as the gatekeepers of Rockwell’s archive is to keep his work alive and seek out innovative ways to connect audiences to his work,” said Nicole Beer, Director of Merchandise Licensing at Curtis Publishing for The Saturday Evening Post. “We’ve selected Meural as an exclusive partner because we see the Meural Canvas as an exceptional platform for bringing these recently-digitized works to life in people’s homes.”
The partnership also includes approximately 125 works from Norman Rockwell’s peer and Saturday Evening Post colleague, J.C. Leyendecker, bringing the total of Saturday Evening Post cover images to around 475. See the works currently available for the Meural Canvas from J.C. Leyendecker and Norman Rockwell in Meural’s art library.
