Secure Technology Alliance Webinar to Explore Mobile Identity Proofing in Higher Education and Airport Wayfinding

PRINCETON JUNCTION, N.J., Nov. 16, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As part of its ongoing mobile identity educational series, the Secure Technology Alliance will host a webinar next month on how mobile identity credentials can enable more secure and convenient experiences in higher education and in airports. Attendees will get a look at the technologies and approaches for mobile identity credentials in each of these industries and hear specific use case examples.

The webinar, “Identity on a Mobile Device: Mobile Identity Proofing in Higher Education and Airport Wayfinding Use Cases,” will be held December 13 at 2pm ET/11am PT. Businesses, higher education institutions, transportation organizations, mobile operators, application developers, OEMs and mobile device and software providers interested in attending can register at https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/2783591101786995203.

“With mobile devices in the pocket of almost every consumer, businesses and institutions are seeing a unique opportunity for quick identification and seamless user experiences.” said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Secure Technology Alliance. “Airports can provide a smoother airport journey for passengers by offering mobile applications like wayfinding, and educational institutions can take advantage of increasing mobile usage on campuses to enable more convenient student access to classroom content and systems. This webinar explores these use cases, highlighting key considerations for implementation to promote data security without compromising convenience.”

Speakers for the webinar are: Tom Lockwood, NextgenID; Mark Sarver, Biometric Signature ID; Chris Runde, American Association of Airport Executives; and Randy Vanderhoof, Secure Technology Alliance.

Attendees of this webinar will leave with an understanding of:

  • Mobile identity technology use cases in airports to promote a seamless passenger journey and to assist blind travelers with wayfinding applications
  • Benefits and use case examples for secure identification proofing and authentication in higher education
  • Use cases for biometric identity and access management across multiple industries

This is the fourth webinar in the Alliance’s series on mobile identity credentialing. The first webinar, “Identity on a Mobile Device,” discussed mobile driver’s licenses and derived PIV credentials. The second webinar, “Identity on a Mobile Device: Access Control Use Cases,” explored the uses of mobile identity credentials for accessing physical facilities, computers, networks and online applications. The third webinar, “Identity on a Mobile Device: Healthcare, Banking and Transportation Use Cases” focused on identity and payment applications in healthcare, banking and transit industries.

Those interested in learning more about digital identity credentials can attend the Secure Technology Alliance’s Securing Digital Identity 2018 Symposium, which will be held December 4 in Crystal City, VA. Speakers at the event will share their knowledge and experiences about digital identities and how they are used for strong authentication and remote authorization purposes.
