ANN ARBOR, Mich., Nov. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The DocNetwork team, creators of CampDoc.com and SchoolDoc.com, are excited to announce a new partnership with Ann Arbor’s Parks and Recreation Adopt-A-Park program. Starting in Spring 2019, DocNetwork team members will volunteer their time at Buhr Park as a benefit to local families and children.
Volunteering has always been core to the DNA of DocNetwork, and the deep roots the company has within Ann Arbor. When asked about the company’s value of encouraging employees to volunteer locally, Dr. Michael Ambrose, Owner and Director of DocNetwork replied, “Ann Arbor has been home to DocNetwork for almost a decade now, with many of our team members living here locally. Giving back to a community through volunteering initiatives is an important part of who we are and what we do every day.”
Why the Adopt-A-Park Program?
The Adopt-A-Park program was chosen as a reflection of the team’s appreciation for nature and their desire to spend more time outdoors. A few focus areas at the park will include planting flowers, mulching playgrounds and walkways, and managing overgrowth in the multiple “rain gardens”. These rain gardens are unique features at Buhr Park and consist of native vegetation, shrubs, perennials, and flowers which are planted in low-lying areas to hold and absorb runoff from rainwater and snowmelt. Their maintenance will not only benefit the park’s beautification, but greatly reduce the risk of flooding to the adjoining streets, properties, and school grounds. The DocNetwork team will have dedicated volunteer days scheduled throughout 2019 to make these continuous improvements.
Buhr Park is a beautiful 39-acre park on the South-central side of Ann Arbor. It features tennis and basketball courts, open fields, a sledding hill, an outdoor pool, and a seasonal ice rink.
