Portland, Ore., Nov. 27, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MyMusicRx proudly presents the return of Bedstock, the first and only online music festival where artists play from bed as a show of solidarity with kids spending the holidays in hospital beds. This Giving Tuesday through December 4, viewers can stream exclusive performances from more than 90 artists like “Weird Al” Yankovic, Death Cab for Cutie, Hozier, TV on the Radio, and Elle King along with dozens of performances from hospitalized kids at Bedstock.com. When fans make a donation of any size at Bedstock.com, they’ll be entered to win one-of-a-kind items including the chance to join MyMusicRx’s Bedstock film crew at Austin City Limits Music Festival in October 2019.
“What I love most about Bedstock is that we are delivering a music festival directly to kids who can’t get out of their hospital beds,” said Hozier. “Every child should get to experience the healing power of music and I am so honored to help make that happen.”
MyMusicRx is the flagship program of the Children’s Cancer Association, whose innovative, free-of-charge programs create transformative moments of joy that deliver music, friendship, and nature to kids and teens facing cancer or other serious illnesses. MyMusicRx’s bedside, digital and in-hospital concert programs deliver the healing power of music to hospitalized kids across the country, reducing stress, anxiety, and perception of pain.
“Bedstock continues to be a powerful platform to convey CCA’s leadership in delivering joy-based programs that transform pediatric healthcare and empower seriously ill kids to feel better, faster,” said Regina Ellis, Founder and Chief Joy Officer, Children’s Cancer Association. “We are incredibly grateful to the more than 300 artists who have participated in Bedstock over the last five years and to their fans, who have given so generously to MyMusicRx. Their support makes a critical difference for the thousands of kids and families we are privileged to serve each year.”
Since 2014, with help from recording artists like Ed Sheeran, Nick Jonas, Norah Jones, Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band, Panic! At the Disco, Jack Johnson, Tegan and Sara, and Tank and the Bangas, Bedstock has generated nearly 582 million impressions and raised more than $191,000 for MyMusicRx.
Festival partners include Beautyrest, Epiphone, The FADER, Cornerstone, Atlantic Records, Nike, Entercom, Austin City Limits Music Festival, Ace Hotel, Ettitude, Brandlive, Knitting Factory, Travelers’ Rest Fest, and Anomaly, a new-model agency whose NYC creative team first conceived of Bedstock as a pro-bono project in 2013.

About Children’s Cancer Association (CCA)
The Children’s Cancer Association knows that for seriously ill children and their families every moment is precious. That’s why our programs leverage music, friendship, and nature to create transformative moments of joy for 35,000 children, teens, and their family members each year. We believe kids deserve long, wonderful lives. Or at the very least, short wonderful lives. Unlike many organizations dedicated to the worthy goal of someday finding a cure for cancer, CCA is all about creating joy today. See our programs in action here, or visit us anytime at JoyRx.org.
