Los Angeles, Nov. 29, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Grammy Award nominated, multi-platinum R&B/Pop recording artist and actress Deborah Cox and award-winning singer, songwriter, and activist Lauren Jauregui are set to perform at The Trevor Project’s TrevorLIVE Los Angeles on Dec. 2 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. The event’s star-studded red carpet and full awards show will be streamed live on The Trevor Project’s Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, powered by the first queer global streaming network Revry and hosted by Shira Lazar and Ryan Mitchell from "Let's Go There" on Channel Q Radio. The gala will launch the two-year partnership, which names Revry as the exclusive live streaming partner and the Official Streaming Network of TrevorLIVE LA and NY. It was previously announced that Ryan Murphy, the cast of “POSE,” Amandla Stenberg, and AT&T will be honored. Eugene Lee Yang will serve as host. Attendees include Jussie Smollett, with special guest appearances from “Superstore” actors Nico Santos and Lauren Ash.

Since beginning her career as a background singer for Celine Dion, Cox has recorded six award-winning and critically acclaimed albums and has written for and been recorded on numerous soundtracks. Her double platinum hit, “Nobody’s Supposed to be Here” spent 14 weeks at the top of Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and she has thirteen No. 1 songs on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart. Cox has been recognized for her longstanding commitment to the LGBT community. In 2015, she received the Out Music Pillar Award. In 2014, she received the California State Senate Award and in 2007, she received The Civil Rights Award from the New York Senate for her efforts in the fight for Human Rights and Equality. The Harvey Milk Foundation at the 2015 Diversity Honors honored her for her efforts in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the LGBT community. On June 12, 2016, she was given the Liberty Bell and Proclamation in Philadelphia by Mayor James Kenney to proclaim June 12 as LGBTQ Philadelphia Pride Parade and Festival Day.

Jauregui is an artist, singer, songwriter, creative and humanitarian. The 22-year-old has embarked on the next chapter of her career with the release of her debut solo song “Expectations” via Columbia Records. Jauregui has spent most of the 2018 in the studio with writers/producers like Khaled Rohaim, Illangelo, Kid Harpoon, King Henry, Ilsey Juber and Alex Hope. Outside of the studio, Jauregui is politically outspoken and actively involved in protests. She has written several open letters since the 2016 United States presidential election, criticizing Donald Trump and his policies, including the "Muslim ban", calling it "disrespectful to Humanity". She penned an open letter to members of the Republican Party, which was published by Billboard in November 2016. She has marched with with students from Parkland, Fla. for gun reform and has joined them on panels and for media interviews. As she gears up for the release of her debut solo album, she continues her activism, imploring fans to be vocal about their stances, fight for human rights and get out and vote.
