SEATTLE, Dec. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Regence BlueShield of Washington is pleased to welcome Jae M. Suzuki as Director of Sales, effective December 12. In his new role, Suzuki will be responsible for driving new business development opportunities and retention while leading the Regence Sales team in service to its members and business partners.
Suzuki comes to Regence from Premera Blue Cross, where he served most recently as Director of Sales and Underwriting for the state of Washington. In his more than 16-year career, Suzuki has held leadership positions in sales, underwriting and marketing, as well as leading strategy and direction of both middle and large market segments.
“We’re thrilled to announce Jae’s addition to the Regence team,” said Tim Lieb, president of Regence BlueShield. “Washington continues to lead the nation in growth and innovation, and employers in our thriving region are increasingly seeking a trusted partner to help them attract and retain top talent. With Jae’s extensive experience and consumer-focused mindset, I’m confident that he will successfully lead us in pursuing new partnerships and delivering innovative solutions for our members.”
Suzuki was raised by a business owner and a teacher, and he continues to apply elements of both perspectives to his work. “I’ve always approached every stage of my career in terms of serving my customers, learning from them, and passing these lessons along through mentoring my team,” he says. “Joining Regence is a natural step forward for me, and I’m eager to build on the company’s century of experience serving our members by helping us deliver the next generation of health care for Washingtonians.”
A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Suzuki has spent the past sixteen years in Seattle establishing strong roots in the local community. He has volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County since 2002, and is currently on his second round of mentoring a child to adulthood. Suzuki holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management. Founded in 1917, Regence and its affiliated companies employ more than 2,200 people and drive more than $375 million in economic activity throughout Washington, according to ECONorthwest. In addition, Regence contributed $3.2 million to its communities in 2017.
