KEMP, Texas, Jan. 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Larson Electronics LLC, a leader of industrial lighting, released a portable power distribution substation that includes two transformers, giving operators the flexibility to convert 400V AC three phase electrical current into three phase 480V AC and to convert single phase 230V AC into 120V AC.
The MPD-20C-1X400-15KVA-1X230-5KVA-3XL16-20R-3XL5-30R portable power distribution system gives operators the ability to power their 480 and 120 Volt equipment from a single station.
The first NEMA 3R 5KVA transformer uses a 20` #10 Type SOOW line-in cord to bring 230V single phase power to the NEMA 3R 30-amp 250V single phase primary disconnect. This disconnect contains two 30-amp time delay fuses. The transformer then converts 230V 50/60 Hz single phase power to 120V 50/60 Hz single phase and passes the current to the secondary disconnect. The secondary side of this transformer feeds a NEMA 3R 30-amp 250V single phase disconnect containing two 30-amp time delay fuses. These fuses protect three 30-amp 125V L5-30R receptacles.
The second NEMA 3R 15KVA transformer also uses a 20` #10 Type SOOW line-in cord to bring 400V three phase power to the NEMA 3R 30-amp 480V three phase primary disconnect. This disconnect contains three 30-amp time delay fuses. The transformer then converts 400V 50/60 Hz three phase power to 480V 50/60 Hz three phase and passes the current to the secondary disconnect. The secondary side of this transformer feeds a NEMA 3R 30-amp 480V three phase disconnect. The disconnect contains two 20-amp time delay fuses protecting three 20-amp 480V L16-20R receptacles.
The MPD-20C-1X400-15KVA-1X230-5KVA-3XL16-20R-3XL5-30R double power distribution substation is mounted to a carbon steel platform with forklift skid pockets, locking casters and top located eyelet for easy lifting and transportation. The unit is ruggedly constructed to withstand tough working environments during operational use and all receptacles are equipped with weatherproof covers. The unit is compliant with the NFPA 70 National Electric code, certified to UL 1640 and has a NEMA 3R rating that provides protection against dirt and water in open or confined spaces.
“This dual portable power distribution system is a very reliable option for remote or temporary worksites where external power sources are needed for equipment,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “This innovative transformer gives operators the flexibility to power a variety of equipment with one system.”
