Brand New Content and Interactive Attractions Announced for Advanced Manufacturing Anaheim 2019

Conference highlighting automation, medical technology, design manufacturing, and more, unveils most interactive agenda yet


SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 10, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Advanced Manufacturing Anaheim, the nation’s largest advanced design and manufacturing event comprised of five events: MD&M West, Pacific Design & Manufacturing, West Pack, ATX West, and PLASTEC West, today announced brand new content and interactive exhibits for its 2019 event designed to showcase the latest technology and trends relevant to the global manufacturing community. New to this year’s agenda includes cutting-edge technology in the New Tech Base Camp, the latest interactive design prototyping in the Design Dome, relevant career advice at the Career Zone, and much more. All new attractions across the five events will take place February 5-7, 2019 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA. New to Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West 2019, the largest three-day MedTech Conference in North America are sessions that feature the latest innovations in R&D, technology, design, materials, regulatory and quality solutions, automation, smart manufacturing, 3D Printing, medical device components and more, including two opening plenary sessions. Both sessions will take place on Tuesday, February 5, from 8:30 a.m. – 9:10 a.m., each with a different focus for interested attendees. Sessions below:

  • Opening Plenary: Innovative Biomaterial Solutions with Polyurethanes, Room 210C
    This session will feature Senior Principal Scientist, Global Innovation at DSM Biomedical, Ajay Padsalgikar, PhD, speaking to the use of polyurethane biomaterials within the body systems as long-term implants, use in drug-delivery systems, and will elaborate on innovative application examples. 
  • Opening Plenary: Using Collaboration to Develop Your Product: How to Launch & Grow Your Startup, Room 210B
    Anne Wellington, Managing Director, Cedars-Sinai will share how early stage companies can collaborate with health systems to develop a product. Find out how to get access to better product intelligence with early insight into clinician and patient needs through the Cedars-Sinai Accelerator program, which helps entrepreneurs bring their innovative technology products to market.

Pacific Design & Manufacturing, North America’s largest design and manufacturing event, will debut the Design Dome, an all-new hub featuring interactive design activities and prototyping workshops led by world-renowned design companies. The Design Dome will be open from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., booth 455.

Also new to 2019, WestPack will unveil The Packaging Experience, a space providing a unique blend of hands-on activities with educational tips put on by Packaging Digest. The interactive exhibit will explore the evolution of packaging through the years and the psychology of branding in addition to offering attendees the opportunity to roll up their sleeves for a DIY packaging activity. Attendees will be able to visit The Packaging Experience at booth 5497 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. 

ATX West, the Nation's largest annual automation technology event, will feature more than 1,900 suppliers showcasing the latest solutions in automation and assembly, robots and robotic accessories, and will introduce the New Tech Base Camp for 2019 for attendees to explore the most cutting-edge products and technologies. New Tech Base Camp will be open from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. all three days in Hall E.

Lastly, new to 2019 will be the Career Zone, a designated area where attendees are encouraged to network and connect with peers and premier companies hiring in the engineering space, including: ADMEDES GmbH, Cicor Group, Freudenberg Medical, Koch Packaging Systems, Inc., Sonoco, Tecan, OPTINOVA, among many more. At the Career Zone, attendees can discuss the design & manufacturing trends influencing career paths through targeted talks, workshops, and networking sessions all three days of the event from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m located in the 2nd floor Lobby.
