EDMONTON, Alberta, Jan. 28, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- F12.net Inc. announced Monday the acquisition of Level4 Technologies, one of Greater Vancouver’s largest managed IT service providers, to offer small and mid-sized business leaders a single proficient IT partner with reach across B.C. and Canada. Level4’s ownership, leadership, and employees are joining F12, complementing F12’s comprehensive offerings with Level4’s successful services.
Level4, known initially as Basic Business Systems, was founded in 1979 with the goal of improving the lives of customers. In 2012, the senior management team purchased Basic Business Systems and rebranded it Level4 Technologies. They shifted the business focus to fully managed IT services, becoming one of B.C.’s top providers with award-winning customer service.
“Level4 offers F12 an exciting opportunity to bolster our customer service and expand our reach,” explains Alex Webb, CEO of F12.net. “Escalating security threats and the disruptive nature of cloud computing and machine learning present challenges too large for small IT teams, leaving SMBs vulnerable. With Level4, F12 continues on our strategy to build a national company helping small to mid-sized businesses with reliable and secure computing environments.”
Ryan Sigouin, CEO of Level4 Technologies, also commented. “F12’s unique solutions provide Level4 customers expanded options to fuel their success. With hardware-as-a-service, on-premises servers, F12’s geo-redundant Canadian cloud and Microsoft’s public cloud we can customize a solution for any company who is looking to grow without worry.”
The expanded company brings together over 200 employees from 10 service locations in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. F12’s Board of Directors appointed Level4’s Ryan Sigouin and Tim Painter as F12’s COO and CFO, respectively.
Ryan Sigouin Appointed COO of F12.net
As COO, Ryan Sigouin assists in formulating F12’s long term strategy and owns service delivery, service desk systems, and customer satisfaction. F12 has remote operations centres in several Canadian cities and onsite technical resources in each service centre. Ryan’s mission is to ensure these teams have the tools, leadership, and focus to serve F12’s clients with the best IT service experience.
Ryan spent most of his professional career with Level4. He began working with the organization in 2001 while still attending university majoring in computer information systems. He then progressed his way through the organization working in multiple roles including sales, project manager, service manager, director of operations, president and finally as the company’s CEO.
Ryan was essential in the development of Level4’s internal systems, the restructuring of its service division, and the acquisition of several tech firms. Ryan also played a leadership role in developing efficient processes and a winning culture. He led his team to re-define Level4’s product and service offerings, taking a long established and successful business and reshaping it for the age of managed services.
Tim Painter Appointed CFO of F12.net
As CFO, Tim owns the strategy for finance, accounting, and legal. F12’s Hardware-as-a-Service (HaaS) and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) solutions enable business leaders to modernize their IT systems using F12’s credit and capital. Managing F12’s financial obligations to permit these advantages is a critical aspect of F12’s success.
Tim joined Level4 in 2006 and has streamlined processes, managed costs, and solidified the strategic business plan. He was instrumental in executing the strategic direction to transform the organization into a pure play SMB managed services provider.
Tim has worked in the technology sector for over 20 years and in finance for over 25 years. Tim came to Level4 from his role as corporate controller for CounterPath Solutions; a NASDAQ listed software company where he was responsible for all public reporting. During his time there, CounterPath grew from fifteen people to over seventy and was named one of Canada’s Best 20 Small and Medium Employers to work for by Queen’s School of Business.
Tim is a Chartered Public Accountant, member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a registered Certified Public Accountant from the state of Delaware.
