BOSTON, Feb. 13, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lexia Learning, a Rosetta Stone® (NYSE: RST) company, has released the Lexia® PowerUp™ Literacy (PowerUp) app for iPad® and it is now available in the App Store. This release helps increase classroom efficiency by leveraging personal devices to promote student-driven mobile learning. The PowerUp app for iPad joins the Lexia® Core5® Reading, Lexia® RAPID™ Assessment, and myLexia iPad apps, making the entire Lexia Learning K-12 literacy portfolio available on iPad.
PowerUp is designed to enhance core English language arts (ELA) instruction for struggling and non-proficient readers in grades six and above. PowerUp accelerates the development of both fundamental literacy skills and higher-order thinking skills through adaptive learning paths. By design, the program addresses the needs of students in the three areas critical to reading success: Word Study, Grammar, and Comprehension by identifying skill gaps and providing personalized, systematic instruction. High interest original and authentic texts, gamification, and respect for student maturity keeps adolescent students engaged. Embedded progress monitoring, actionable data and scripted lessons empower teachers to deliver the exact instruction each student needs.
