BIKING – RETURN OF THE BURNER
Awarded #1 Bike Park in the Southwest by MTBParks.com for the fifth year in a row, Angel Fire Bike Park (www.angelfirebikepark.com)the largest Bike Park in the Rockies, opens more than 60 miles of trails on May 17. Angel Fire maintains over 100 miles of downhill and cross-country green belt trails for all ability levels that also ties into the National Forest trail network including the highly praised South Boundary Trail. Additionally, the quiet surrounding roads of the village and valleys also make it an ideal, high-altitude haven for road bikers. Lessons and downhill bike rental equipment are available at the resort.
RETURN OF THE BURNER: After a decade, Angel Fire Bike Park and Red Bull will reignite the legendary endurance downhill mountain biking event – Return of the Burner on June 2, 2019. This famous gravity fueled endurance event will test riders physical and mental fortitude in both team and solo formats, The Return of the Burner will be the must-attend event of the summer. COOL SUMMER NIGHTS CONCERT SERIES
The popular outdoor concert series is back and will officially help the resort kick off the summer starting June 14 with local favorite Ry Taylor Band. The outdoor free Friday Night concerts will offer a variety of musical genres that allow guests to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and the fun of live music. Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, and Rock performances will entertain the crowd Friday nights from June – August, at Frontier Park. Pack a picnic or enjoy food, wine, and beer from the local food vendors and a Kid Zone. This is a free event and family friendly.

ZIPLINING – ‘FAMILY FLYER’ LINES THIS SUMMER
Opening May 17(weather permitting) is one of the highest-altitude, adrenaline educing outdoor adventures in the state. Angel Fire Resort’s Rocky Mountain Zipline Adventure Tour, which takes thrill-seekers through multiple zipline stages at the summit. Along with the six-line adventure tour, there is also The Family Flyer which is made up of two ziplines and will offer younger kids who don’t weigh enough for the full adventure tour a chance to still experience the excitement of mountain-top ziplining. Children weighing as light as 50 pounds – 250 pounds will be able to join in the fun. Those weighing 90 pounds and above can participate in the full six-line tour. The tour is the second highest elevation zipline tour in the United States and the largest in New Mexico.
BALLOONS OVER ANGEL FIRE
Balloons Over Angel Fire 2019 will take place over Father’s Day weekend, June 14-16. A great get-away for the family to give Dad a special weekend. This year 40 hot-air balloons will fly over Angel Fire throughout the weekend with a special Balloon Glow on Saturday evening. See the Enchanted Circle with three days of hot-air ballooning up close and personal. Vendors will be available throughout all three days of the mass ascensions.
ART AND FARMERS MARKET
This popular Sunday morning mix of art, wares, and food is back for a third season. Starting Sunday, June 16 take a stroll through Frontier Park for this high-altitude farmer’s market that will offer the best in fresh, locally-grown produce and products such as honey, soaps, and baked goods.Sunday mornings will be the ideal time to sip on a hot vanilla latte, listen to live music and check out paintings, pottery, and jewelryfrom local New Mexican artisans at the new art and farmers market.
THE SIP AND SWING
Situated at 8,600’ elevation, Angel Fire Resort’s high-altitude, 18-hole Golf course is regarded as one of the most stunning in the west. The course is tucked beneath the imposing Sangre de Cristo Mountains and offers sweeping views of Wheeler Peak and plenty of wildlife. The driving range and golf course opens May 16 and will offer several junior and adult clinics and tournaments this season. SUMMIT DISC GOLF
Angel Fire Resort has completely redesigned the popular PDGA Approved Disc Golf course located at the top of Agua Fria Peak via the Chile Express chairlift. This 18-hole course is free to play and will offer a more challenging mountain adventure back nine holes while the front nine will be easier and more family friendly. The course opening depends on snow but typically follows the lift schedule.
MOVIES IN THE PARK
Angel Fire Resort will offer families a great excuse to head to Frontier Park with their blankets, chairs and picnic baskets with the return of Movies in the Park gatherings. These outdoor movie events will take place on June 15 and July 6. This a free event open to the public.
STAND UP PADDLEBOARDING
Angel Fire Resort’s Monte Verde Lake is a beautiful spring fed high mountain place to hike, fish with family, boat, paddle board or relax on shore. Additionally, this summer those looking for a bit more adventure can rent stand-up paddleboards at the lake. With the calm waters and cool mountain breezes these extra wide boards make this activity easy for beginners to master. For those wanting a family fish fry, the lake is stocked with rainbow lake trout throughout the summer. Fishing equipment, bait, and pedal boats are also available. Kids’ climbing wall and eurobungy are open for the children to get their adrenaline pumping. The trail around the lake and the Lady Slipper trail are perfect for family hiking and biking. On the south end of the lake, there is a floating dock for fishing or just relaxing.
