Des Moines, Iowa, May 02, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Technology company Amazon Web Services has become the Community Sponsor for the upcoming Monetery Tech Summit to be held in Des Moines on May 21 and 22, 2019.
Monetery, in its second year, is fast becoming one of the premier technology conferences in the Midwest. Hundreds of CEOs, company founders, investors and inventors from around the country are expected for the two-day conference, held in the Temple for the Performing Arts in downtown Des Moines.
The conference’s agenda is to grow an inclusive tech ecosystem and announced speakers include Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare, Martina Lauchengco, operating partner at Costanoa Ventures, Sherri Davidoff, CEO at LMG Security & BrightWise, Inc., and Andrew Yang, a venture capitalist who is seeking the Democratic nomination for President of the United States in 2020. The conference will consist of presentations, panels and personal meetings with venture capitalists and other investors
Amazon Web Services has agreed to become the Community Sponsor for Monetery and has underwritten a number of tickets for students and community members. The assembly of Amazon Web Services, its parent company Amazon.com, Inc. and Monetery is a case of overlapping principles. Amazon’s commitment to its communities promises to ensure all children and young adults, especially those from underrepresented and underprivileged communities, have the resources and skills they need to build their best and brightest futures. The Monetery Tech Summit has acted as a funding engine for underrepresented groups in technology. In 2018, the conference raised more than $10,000 for Pi515, an after-school program that educates Iowa’s underserved population, particularly refugee 7-12th grade students, on computer coding.
“Monetery’s relationship with Amazon Web Services makes perfect sense,” said Ben Milne, Founder and CEO at Dwolla, the Des Moines-based financial technology company that produces Monetery. “AWS and Dwolla are closely aligned with our goals of supporting new innovations. Their support makes it possible to invite attendees who may otherwise have been unable to attend Monetery and gain access to the future of technology in the Midwest.”
Registration for Monetery 2019 is currently open. Visit monetery.com for announcements on agenda items, speakers and more.
