HARRISBURG, Pa., May 15, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- D&H Distributing is proud to announce it has achieved 17% overall YoY growth for its 2019 Fiscal Year, which began on May 1, 2018 and ended April 30, 2019. The company either added or enhanced several key focus areas this year, experiencing considerable revenue spikes of 107% in cloud solutions, 111% in ProAV categories (including commercial displays for digital signage), 41% in PC gaming, and 32% in premium notebooks. This is in addition to consistent high-yield categories such as network security at 77% growth; and servers and workstations each at 26% growth, respectively.
D&H’s recent expansion is not limited to product categories. It was sparked by both new D&H programs and by recruitment initiatives that included the hire of high-level personnel, plus the establishment of additional business units. The company’s appointment of Jason Bystrak as vice president of D&H’s Cloud Business Unit has produced powerful forward momentum for the company’s Cloud Solutions strategy, resulting in triple digit growth in that category, plus an ongoing increase in D&H’s roster of cloud service providers offered through its digital commerce platform. The platform itself is undergoing major enhancements for 2019, making it easier for D&H’s MSP partners to deliver and manage a growing range of hosted services.
D&H’s hire of Peter Hurley as director of the new ProAV & Collaboration Business Unit has resulted in a similar catalyst for sales growth, facilitating opportunities for VARs to deliver large-scale digital display solutions integrated with hosted services, content, and collaborative solutions in a variety of lucrative markets.
Addressing the EoS PC Refresh
D&H is seeing the beginnings of a PC refresh cycle in reaction to the January 2020 end-of-service and end-of-life deadlines for Microsoft Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2. The distributor predicts this will open the door to discussions of comprehensive infrastructure and device upgrades, including to high performance notebooks, powerful WiFi systems, mobile device management, power protection products, collaboration solutions, and more.
Modernized devices such as premium notebooks—one of this fiscal year’s higher growth areas at 32%—can deliver more efficient capabilities to the SMB marketplace through Windows 10, Intel®’s powerful vPro™ processors, and the Office 365 hosted subscription service. These devices offer advantages such as all-day battery life, superior security, performance increases of up to 80%, and multitasking speeds that are more than twice as fast as Windows 7-based notebooks.
Continued Transformation in FY 2020: Cloud, IoT, RMM, PSA
“D&H has made a major transition in 2019, and it’s not nearly over,” said Dan Schwab, co-president at D&H Distributing. “Our customers are being called upon to address a wider base of challenges for businesses. D&H continues to advance on a trajectory that allows us to involve more SMB and managed service provider partners in innovative, next-generation connectivity projects. Our latest assets help reseller partners leverage trends like DaaS, cloud, collaboration, and IoT to not only grow their own offerings, but to increase the security and sophistication of small business companies, creating more technologically well-appointed, effective, modern workplace environments.”
Other FY 2020 focus areas may include RMM and PSA tools (remote monitoring and management; professional services automation). These are in addition to new MSP service partners and the enhanced digital commerce platform added under D&H’s Cloud Solutions program.
“We’re looking to the incoming Fiscal Year with great anticipation,” said Michael Schwab, co-president at D&H. “As a distribution company, we’ve been on a constant course of evolution to address the market’s transformation. We’ve added new talent to our ranks and are mastering emerging trends as the industry migrates toward a more broadly-defined, services-oriented field. D&H will deliver the tools and expertise our solution providers need to profit from their escalated role in the marketplace.”
