SAN JOSE, Calif., May 16, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) today announced enhancements to the analytics and reporting dashboard of the Remote Monitoring Services that enable communications service providers (CSPs) to proactively address network issues. These dashboard enhancements provide greater insight into and increased prioritization of incidents impacting subscribers on AXOS as well as legacy platforms. CSPs can now more easily analyze and set up targeted mitigation and remediation plans that proactively and systematically address customer outages and impairments, even for hard-to-detect intermittent problems. Early adopters of the Remote Monitoring Services have already seen the number of incidents that require technician intervention drop by as much as 90 percent and network issue resolution times decrease by up to 50 percent.
The latest release of the Calix Remote Monitoring Services include:
- ONT Health Check Module: analyzes issues impacting ONT performance for GPON and Active Ethernet subscribers on AXOS as well as legacy platforms, isolating incidents such as performance or battery degradation that could affect subscriber experience
- High Value Account Module: tracks incidents and alarms, analyzing performance through actionable drill downs into high value subscribers under SLAs or subscribers needing higher priority (e.g. hospitals, schools, utilities, transport customers, etc.)
- Alarm Severity Filtering: identifies alarms and incidents by severity – critical, major and minor – and selectively filters dashboard views by alarm type to focus on higher priority incidents
Remote Monitoring customer Ntec is a telecommunications cooperative that provides broadband, voice, and television service to members in west central Wisconsin. The Remote Monitoring Services enable them be more proactive and efficient when resolving problems impacting service quality and availability.
“Remote Monitoring immediately provided us benefits by identifying an intermittent problem we wouldn’t have seen if we were not using the service,” said Matt Hoyt, plant manager for Ntec. “It allowed us to proactively resolve a critical, hard-to-detect ring protection issue that could have resulted in member and service downtime. We like the new modules in the dashboard and added alarm severity filtering because they give us a better view of what’s going on in the network and allow us to systematically address member ONT-related issues before they call in.”
The Calix Remote Monitoring Services provide real-time, machine-learning-based incident notifications to help lower mean-time-to-repair on network issues and reduce the number of truck rolls. The web-based dashboard delivers actionable insights and reporting by incident type, allowing CSPs to be more proactive in keeping user satisfaction high.
“Calix Remote Monitoring Services continue to resonate with customers looking to get out in front of the network problems impacting their subscribers,” said Greg Billings, VP of services for Calix. “Ntec’s story reinforces what other customers are telling us. This service delivers a material impact almost immediately, providing a proactive approach to improve subscriber satisfaction and retention. The new features in the web portal improve the prioritization of issues impacting high value accounts, while quickly analyzing and resolving service-impacting problems.”
