Today’s announcement follows the Company’s recent announcement that it has entered the biomechanics market launching operations in Minneapolis, MN.
Dr. Barry Butler, a practicing podiatrist, Chairman of the Board and creator of the technology that SubioMed intends to commercialize commented, “I’m very pleased to welcome multiple new accomplished members to our management team and board of directors. Patrick Kullmann joins SubioMed as CEO and board member with a 35-year track record in MedTech, BioTech and Pharma. He has served in leadership positions at J&J, Boston Scientific and Medtronic and multiple start up medical technology companies. Recently COO and President for Medovex Corp, Patrick has also served as a member of the board of directors for several companies in the past and has been a featured presenter in the US and the EU on MedTech startup topics.
He is highly qualified and accomplished in the startup space with a proven track record of success in the medical technology field. Patrick is the author of the book “The Inventors Guide for Medical Technology” and is a Fox Business News network contributor. SubioMed is his eighth start up.
Brian Bowen joins SubioMed as Executive VP and board member with a 32-year track record in marketing strategy and leadership in Consumer, Pharma and Med Device.
He has held leadership positions for DJO Global, Exos Medical, Knoll Pharmaceuticals, and PepsiCo and consulting roles in medical device, orthopedic bracing, and foot + ankle implants. He possesses expertise in strategy, marketing management, R+D, sales management, and sales training. His value creation experience ranges from large consumer brands to disruptive med device technology, including foot and ankle. Brian's approach to innovative technology seeks optimized value creation across all customer segments, including patients, providers, facilities, and payors.
In addition to the new executive appointments, John Deedrick and Martin Emerson have joined the Company’s board of directors.
John is an experienced senior executive, a venture investor, board member, governance expert, leadership coach and speaker, as well as an early stage company founder and advisor. His career encompasses venture investments in over 50 companies, a board director or board observer role in more than 25 companies, a co-founder role in 20 companies and significant operating roles for multiple businesses. John is Co-founder and Executive Chairman of ActivOrtho, Inc., Co-Founder and Director of DyaMX, Inc., and Co-Founder and Director of CHIP II, Inc. John is also President of CHIP Solutions, a business consulting firm that provides significant value-added services to individuals, private companies and public companies.
Marty is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Monteris Medical. Prior to joining Monteris, Marty spent eight years as the President and CEO of Galil Medical, a private company and leader in the cryoablation systems market, through its acquisition by BTG plc. Marty was President and CEO of American Medical Systems (AMS), a public urology and gynecology device company with sales of over $500 million. Prior to both Galil and AMS, he held various management positions, both domestic and international, with Boston Scientific Corporation and Baxter International. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Tepha Medical Devices.
Physical issues surrounding biomechanics of the lower extremities are a leading cause of morbidity and mortality effecting millions of patients worldwide. SubioMed intends to address this problem by commercializing Dr. Butler’s technology.
