Helping Develop Indigenous Youth into Tomorrow’s Leaders, 20 Years and Counting

The Outland Youth Employment Program (OYEP) is celebrating 20 years of programming.


Thunder Bay, Ontario, Aug. 15, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Members of the media are invited to join us for our 20th anniversary celebration of OYEP, a program which helps provide opportunities for Indigenous youths across Canada.

WHY
OYEP has been facilitating education, training and work opportunities to over 500 Indigenous youth from 103 communities across Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba and Nunavut since 2000. We’re proud to celebrate the successful conclusion of our 20th year of delivery.

HOW
OYEP is a local, community-driven initiative operated by Outland which works towards equity and opportunity for Indigenous youth through education, training and work opportunities. Youth are fully immersed in a natural resource-based work culture, including safety training, time management, remote and rotational work schedules and work-life balance.
