CTERA Earns U.S. Department of Defense APL Certification

CTERA the First Global File System to be Certified for DoDIN Approved Products List

NEW YORK, Oct. 08, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- CTERA, the global leader in edge-to-cloud file services, today announced its platform has been certified for the United States Department of Defense Information Network Approved Products List (DoDIN APL). This designation allows U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) agencies to deploy CTERA solutions to modernize file services infrastructure.

DoD agencies are required to fulfill their system needs by only purchasing DoDIN APL-listed products, which have completed interoperability and cybersecurity certifications via a rigorous testing process conducted by the DoD. The DoDIN APL is overseen by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). CTERA is the first cloud file services provider to be awarded DoDIN APL certification.

Defense agencies use CTERA to connect distributed remote sites and users to a global file system powered by the private cloud of their choice. CTERA’s proprietary data transport protocol enables secure and efficient data replication to geographically remote locations. Agencies can seamlessly replace aging file storage systems including remote NAS and file servers at remote sites without impacting the performance or privacy of their data, and enable modern collaboration and significantly reduced TCO.

CTERA Edge Filers, CTERA Drive, and CTERA Portal are included under the DoDIN APL designation, each having met the list’s strict security standards, including 100% on-premises installation, integrated DoD CAC (Common Access Cards) authentication, and comprehensive audit logging.

CTERA previously received the Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 (FIPS 140-2) validation certificate for its military-grade encryption.

“CTERA’s inclusion on the DoDIN APL reflects our commitment to ensuring federal and defense agencies can modernize without compromise,” said Richard Elliott, SVP of North America and U.S. Federal Government, CTERA. “DoD agencies traditionally have been limited in their approach to NAS replacement and IT modernization due to highly strict data privacy requirements. The CTERA platform is uniquely capable of transforming file services within federal IT, delivering local performance, cloud scalability, and global collaboration – all with the highest levels of data control.”
