On August 8, 2022, GBT announced that it had entered into an agreement to be acquired by Pfizer in an all-cash deal with an enterprise value of $5.4 billion. Pursuant to the merger agreement, Pfizer will acquire all the outstanding shares of GBT for $68.50 per share in cash. The deal is scheduled to close as early as the fourth quarter of 2022.
