AD is the most common form of dementia and afflicts an estimated 6 million individuals in the United States, a number that is anticipated to increase to approximately 14 million by 2050.1 It is a leading cause of death in older adults, and exacts an emotional, physical, and financial toll on the entire family of those who are diagnosed.
