BERKELEY, Calif., March 14, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Harvest’s Smart Thermal Battery™ was named Finalist in the Reuters Global Energy Transition 2024 competition today, one week after the company was named to TIME magazine’s GreenTech Companies 2024 list. In January, Harvest won a 2024 Edison Award for Sustainable Energy completing the Trifecta of clean energy awards.
Harvest’s HVAC controller, the Pod®, makes heat pumps smarter – managing thermal energy storage to slash emissions from home heating and hot water by 90% compared to gas equipment. Harvest is the cheapest way to decarbonize homes making electrification scalable. This award celebrates “the most innovative technologies in the energy transition arena, that bridge the gap to make the seemingly impossible possible.” The nominations were judged independently by a carefully selected panel of judges composed of industry experts from academia, media, NGOs, and IGOs. Technology applications were evaluated based on relevance to zero-carbon energy, commercial viability, and disruptive potential. Winners in each category will be announced in New York on June 25, 2024.
The GreenTech Company list was presented by TIME and Statista Inc., the leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. Harvest ranked 55 out of 250 on the March 5, 2024 list. The ranking of US companies is based on the research and analysis of over 4,600 companies across three dimensions: positive environmental impact, financial strength, and innovation drive.
