NEW YORK, Jan. 09, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Wavemaker US (www.wavemakerglobal.com) announces it’s been ranked as a 2019 Best Place to Work by Ad Age after only one year in existence, following the merger of GroupM agencies MEC and Maxus.
This award, which compares agencies, ad tech firms, and media and brand marketing companies across both small and large-scale categories, assessed Wavemaker’s company culture, engagement and growth opportunities, employee benefits and work-life balance offering – placing Wavemaker US in the top 25 in the enterprise category (201+ employees).
“We created Wavemaker with a mission to make the best future for our clients, our people and the industry; and diverse and passionate talent is at the heart of that commitment.” commented Amanda Richman, US CEO. “The 850+ employees who come to Wavemaker every day have built a culture that values both individual creativity and team ingenuity, and we’re proud to be a part of the positive change that Ad Age celebrates.
In partnership with Latitude Research, this year’s ranking specifically included evaluation of companies’ awareness and preparedness for issues of sexism and racism, and examined company structures for employee advancement, diversity, inclusion and other components that enable a holistic and multicultural workplace. With females representing 50% of executive leadership, and the overall complexion of Wavemaker US mirroring the US Census, diversity has been a long-standing priority for the agency.
“There is no ignoring that today’s modern employee is in search of purpose,” added Kristen Metzger, US Chief Talent Officer. “Talent no longer demands only the tools for self-discovery, but the ability to contribute and grow professionally and personally. It is our responsibility to create a place where people feel inspired, engaged and supported – a place where everyone feels they can be their best selves.”
Wavemaker US has made significant investment in offering employees ongoing culture programming and competitive employee benefits. Some of the highlights include a comprehensive learning and development curriculum, continuous thought leadership and inspiration sessions, ongoing events celebrating and showcasing multicultural talent, an inclusive parental family leave policy and agency-wide flexible work program.

About Ad Age Best Places to Work 2019
Ad Age Best Places to Work 2019—produced in partnership with Latitude Research, a market research firm—identifies 50 workplaces that get the job done: 25 companies with 200 or fewer employees and 25 companies with more than 200 employees. Winners reflect the highest overall numerical scores based on an analysis of questionnaires submitted by employers and survey responses from employees. The scoring system factored in six key satisfaction areas, an aggregate of each company's ratings in those key areas and a collective workplace rating to arrive at an overall score. The six key areas: employee benefits, company culture, employee development, company environment, employee engagement and employee perks.
