JAAKKO PÖYRY GROUP RECEIVES EUR 15 MILLION ENGINEERING ASSIGNMENTS FOR ARACRUZ PULP MILL PROJECT IN BRAZIL

Jaakko Pöyry Tecnologia Ltda, a Jaakko Pöyry Group company based in São Paulo, has been appointed engineering consultant for the Aracruz pulp mill’s 700,000 t/a expansion project in Brazil. The assignment comprises engineering, procurement and construction management services for the interconnections and complementary plants of Aracruz pulp mill. Jaakko Pöyry Tecnologia will also provide Owner’s Engineering services to assist Aracruz in the pro-ject engineering and management. The services will be provided by Jaakko Pöyry Tecnologia, with support from Jaakko Pöyry Oy in Hel-sinki. This is the fourth major assignment for Aracruz Celulose S.A. since 1974.

Jaakko Pöyry Oy in Helsinki has been commissioned by Andritz-Ahlström Oy to provide detail engineering services for the Aracruz pulp mill project.

The total value of the Jaakko Pöyry Group’s assignments for the Aracruz pulp mill project is approximately EUR 15 million.

Jaakko Pöyry Tecnologia is the Jaakko Pöyry Group's Brazilian sub-sidiary, belonging to the Group's Forest Industry business group. The operations were started in 1999 after restructuring of the Group's operations in Brazil. The company employs today some 100 people.
