DENVER, CO--(Marketwired - Apr 8, 2013) - The emerging media experts at Accelerated Media are debuting their enhanced Companion Ad/App Network (CAN) at the 2013 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in Las Vegas. Accelerated Media's advanced ad serving platform is available to content providers as an add-on to existing apps, helping them monetize their apps.
Accelerated Media's CAN provides advertisers the option to host video-on-demand or photo galleries, request for information, coupons or samples, map of retail locations, social media integration and even transactional capabilities to "buy now" on any connected TV or mobile device. These ads are more discoverable as part of a content provider's application.
"An increasing number of viewers are seeking additional content by connecting their TVs and mobile devices to the Internet, and this is creating new revenue-generating opportunities for content owners who embrace Advanced TV advertising," said Accelerated Media CEO Lesa Bannon. "Our specially designed CAN platform, which can be inserted into existing connected-TV and mobile apps, lets viewers access their local TV news and weather while the content owner gets ad dollars. It's a win-win for the viewer and the content owner."
"This type of viewer involvement leads to deeper engagement and higher levels of brand recall, purchase intent and product sales," added Accelerated Media President and CTO Doug McGary.
For example, many broadcasters, such as WRAL in Raleigh, already had developed connected-TV apps to showcase their content but were unable to monetize them. WRAL commissioned StepLeader Digital to create its connected-TV app. StepLeader Digital then turned to Accelerated Media for the ad platform.
Chris Hanburger, vice president of Business Development at StepLeader Digital, explains: "Broadcasters have come to rely upon StepLeader to be their one-stop shop for all of their digital needs. With native apps, mobile web, and video offerings already in place and supporting interactive advertisements, we selected Accelerated Media as our partner to speed the launch of connected-TV apps that now support pre-roll and clickable banners embedded in the broadcaster's app. The decision was made easier by the fact that Accelerated Media also has major advertisers with approved budgets who are ready to support this expanded footprint."
Accelerated Media's team of developers can create an app for content providers who don't already have one. For instance, Fisher Interactive engaged Accelerated Media to develop a connected-TV app for KOMO in Seattle.
"KOMO News is more than the premier broadcaster in Seattle. Our web and social media audiences are growing rapidly and as connected TVs and mobile devices hit critical mass, we chose Accelerated Media as our app developer since they bring us additional advertising expertise to monetize our digital footprint," says Jenny Kuglin, general manager of Fisher Interactive.
Accelerated Media's CAN also includes an authoring system, or software development kit, which allows digital ad agencies or content owners like Fisher Interactive to build and deploy advanced advertising applications for their clients quickly and seamlessly.
You can see demonstrations of the CAN and Accelerated Media's other offerings at the NAB show in the Las Vegas convention center in booth N6218.
