PORTLAND, Jan. 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (http://www.myprgenie.com) -- VendScreen, Inc., a SaaS platform vendor with thousands of vending touchscreen devices deployed nationally, has published an infographic that provides a synopsis of vending transaction patterns across the United States.
The infographic shows that an average vending machine had sales of $76.26 per week in 2013, with 24.3 percent of those sales coming from cashless transactions (credit and debit card purchases). In addition data shows that the average cashless transaction in 2013 was more than 30 percent higher than the average cash transaction -- $1.71 versus $1.16 respectively.
To produce this infographic, VendScreen drew upon transaction data from its extensive national installed base of touchscreen devices that enable cashless payments. Statistics reflect all transactions across all VendScreen customers, which totaled more than $1 million in sales per month from vending transactions. VendScreen provides performance index baselines to its vending machine operator customers as a value added service. These baselines allow them to better assess when to invest more in technology, diversify snack offerings, or scout new locations.
