The corporate assembly of Norsk Hydro ASA has approved the purchase of VAW Aluminium AG.
The intention is to carry out a rapid integration of Hydro Aluminium and VAW, and plans are proceeding as scheduled. According to the agreement, the acquisition will be fully concluded in March 2002.
The transaction is subject to the approval of the regulatory and competition authorities, which include the EU.
