He will start in his new post on 1 January 2004 and report to Executive Vice President Dag J. Opedal.
Erik R. Barkald has been employed by the Orkla Group since 1993 and has previously been Senior Vice President, Vice President and Controller. He also has experience from Unitor, where he worked as Group Treasurer.
Terje Andersen, Senior Vice President Corporate Finance at Orkla ASA, will remain in charge of his current area of responsibility and also take over responsibility for the Group's Treasury and Investor Relations department.
