The project includes both the construction of the hospital as well as of adjacent housing for both the Radiotherapeutisch Instituut Stedendriehoek en Omstreken (RISO), a radiotherapy institute, and for the centre for mental health care (Adhesie). The total surface area of the development project comprises approximately 75,000 m² and will in future provide capacity for around 380 beds. The construction of a new Deventer Hospital means the realisation of the aim to unite what are currently two separate sites in Deventer on the same premises at the Nico Bolkensteinlaan. Building activities will take about 36 months.
With the signing of this contract Heijmans is currently working for ten hospitals, including the Gelre hospitals in Apeldoorn, the Hofpoort Hospital in Woerden and the Sint Franciscus Hospital in Rotterdam, for a total contract sum of around EUR 190 million.
