Heijmans appoints new Infra division management


From 18 September 2006, the board of the Heijmans Infra division will consist of:
  •          P.J. Overakker (chairman)
  • Paul Overakker (1953) studied Economics in Rotterdam and Tilburg, Business Administration in Wageningen and Management at Nyenrode University. He was a member of the senior management at GTI N.V., where he led the Industrie and Infra division (Industry and Infrastructure), which employed 3,800 people. His knowledge of the world of infrastructure was acquired in this position. At present he is the managing director of Tyco Integrated Systems B.V. Paul Overakker has extensive knowledge and experience working with projects, systems and processes.
  •            M.J.J. Heijmans
    Martien Heijmans (1955) studied Civil Engineering in Delft and has worked for Heijmans since 1980. He was manager of the former Heijmans divisions Wegen en Waterbouw (Civil and Hydraulic Engineering), Heijmans Milieu (Environment), and Heijmans Infrastructuur en Milieu (Infrastructure and Environment). He has been a member of the Infra division board since 1999.
  •          P.G.F. Staps
  • Erik Staps (1967) studied Civil Engineering in Delft and has worked for Heijmans since 1996. He was cluster manager at Heijmans Beton en Waterbouw (Concrete Construction and Hydraulic Engineering).
     
    The current division manager, P.A. Kelder, will become chairman of the management team for the new GWW group (Earthworks and Civil Engineering), with the repositioned asphalt production and processing forming part of it. Peter Kelder (1954) studied Civil and Hydraulic Engineering and has worked for Heijmans since 1978. Before becoming Infra division director, he was director of Wegenbouw (Civil Engineering).
     
    The current division director, L.F.M. Kwaks, will become a member of the executive committee of Heijmans Belgium, where he will replace J.G.C. Brouwers, who will retain his links with Heijmans as a consultant. As of 1 January 2007, the executive committee of Heijmans Belgium will consist of the current chairman, Johan Godemont, and Leo Kwaks.
     
    Kwaks (1952) studied Civil and Hydraulic Engineering and has worked for Heijmans since 1975. Before becoming division director at Infra, he was director of the former Heijmans division Beton- en Waterbouw (Concrete Construction and Hydraulic Engineering).
     
    Jacques Brouwers (1947) studied Civil and Hydraulic Engineering and Technology and Management and has worked for Heijmans since he graduated. Before becoming a member of the Heijmans Belgium executive committee, he was a director of the former Heijmans division Infrastructuur en Milieu (Infrastructure and Environment).
     
    Shifts are also taking place among the group directors. In its new form, Heijmans Infra will consist of a total of 7 groups, which will replace the current 11 clusters. The following people have been appointed directors of the 7 groups:
