Heijmans strengthens foundation techniques market position

Herrewijnen Heiwerken is a profitable company with expected revenues of EUR 6 million in 2006. In 2007 Heijmans anticipates a positive contribution to the profit per share.

Herrewijnen Heiwerken was involved with major national construction projects such as the High-Speed Line and the Betuwe line, amongst others. The company carries out foundation operations for industrial firms, private individuals and government bodies such as municipal companies, Rijkswaterstaat (the Ministry of Waterways and Public Works), Railinfra (rail infrastructure). The company has been in existence since 1937 and is based in Spijkenisse. It employs 21 staff. 100% of the shares which Herrewijnen Holding B.V. holds in Silent Piling Nederland B.V. are also being taken over. Silent Piling has pressure equipment to be able to press and draw sheet piling without vibration.

Integrated building excavation
Since last year Heijmans has been in the market with integrated building excavation product marketing combinations. This is a total approach for all underground activities through to the ground level from demolition to new construction. This integrated aproach is suitable for complex inner-city projects where the technical foundation and civil building expertise are combined. Herrewijnen Heiwerken is also active in renovation and restoration projects in heavily built-up areas, particularly when projects must be done with minimum noise disturbance and without heavy vibration.
