FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwire - Nov 2, 2012) - The South Florida Interactive Marketing Association will focus its final educational program of the year on online video advertising, which is one of the fastest growing segments in online advertising. Jared Skolnick, vice president of product marketing at digital advertising company, Undertone, will discuss how "quality" online video is defined by consumers and what companies can do to ensure their online video advertising efforts are successful.
Consumers are watching online video in ever-increasing numbers. A 2011 study by Yahoo! found that 57% of Internet audiences view video content on a daily basis. ComScore VideoMetrix reported this year that viewers watched 37% more videos online in 2011 than they did in 2010. Companies have taken notice: Traditional television advertising is being complemented, and in some cases supplanted, by online video advertising.
"Today, any household brand on TV is almost certainly thinking about digital video," said Skolnick. "It's almost assumed that they should do it, but the question becomes how and how much to be successful."
The SFIMA discussion takes place Thursday, November 8, at the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum in Dania Beach, Fla. Networking runs from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., followed by Skolnick's presentation until 8:30 p.m. The event is free for SFIMA members. Non-members pay $39 in advance, $49 at the door.
