DALLAS, April 16, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Five Star Institute will host Dr. Condoleezza Rice, 66th Secretary of State of the United States, as the keynote speaker of its 10th Annual Five Star Conference and Expo this September.
The Five Star Conference draws thousands of mortgage servicing, default, and real estate professionals each year. In 10 short years, Five Star has become the largest event not only in default servicing but in all of mortgage servicing. The 2013 event is expected to attract an even more diverse audience with an expanded, tailored agenda that broadens the scope of the conference and brings together all stakeholders connected to mortgage servicing and the distressed real estate market.
"It is an honor to have Dr. Condoleezza Rice as the keynote speaker of this milestone event for the Five Star organization," said Ed Delgado, president and CEO of the Five Star Institute. "Throughout her career in public service, Dr. Rice achieved unparalleled success on both the domestic and international stages. As an accomplished statesman and political leader, her pioneering spirit has unlocked new opportunities and continues to forge new pathways for women and minorities throughout this country and abroad."
Rice made history as the first African-American woman to be named secretary of state of the United States, an office she held from January 2005 to January 2009. She was the second woman and second African-American to ever hold the post of America's chief diplomat. She was also the first woman to ever serve as national security advisor when President George W. Bush appointed her to the role from January 2001 to January 2005.
In 1993, Dr. Rice became the first female, first minority, and youngest Provost ever appointed at Stanford University. She currently teaches political science at Stanford and is a professor at the Graduate School of Business. She is also the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson senior fellow on public policy at the Hoover Institution and founding partner of the international consulting firm RiceHadleyGates LLC.
The 2013 Five Star Conference and Expo is September 8-10, 2013, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. In addition to its roster of memorable speakers—which has included former U.S. presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush; former first lady Laura Bush; former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani; media personalities James Carville, Mary Matalin, and Chris Wallace; and presidential candidate Steve Forbes, among others—the Five Star provides attendees with the type of professional education and business-building networking opportunities that are unrivaled within the industry.
