DashBid Gives Publishers Back Full Control of Their Pages with PubTools

PubTools will track ad loads, latency, and empower publishers to control page performance and revenue

NEW YORK, May 24, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- DashBid today announces PubTools, a first-of-its-kind solution to one of the most difficult challenges facing digital publishers – controlling user experience and maximizing revenue.

Publishers’ pages are often laden with scripts from different ad tech, analytics, and tracking partners. Those scripts can slow page performance, prevent content from loading, and even freeze browsers and devices. The result is poor user experience, high abandonment rates, and an increase in ad blocker usage. Pages from some publishers DashBid studied have made calls to over 500 external servers in one page load.

With PubTools, DashBid is giving the power of control back to the publisher. The new platform empowers publishers to:

  • Discover the advertising and tracking scripts running on their pages.
  • Understand how those scripts are affecting page performance.
  • Turn off rogue scripts at the press of a button.
  • Measure ad blocker usage and resultant revenue loss in real-time.
  • Understand how and where valuable data is leaking off the page.

“There are so many things going on in a publisher’s page that can affect performance,” said Rodger Wells, CRO of DashBid. “This groundbreaking product tracks every script being run in one dashboard and gives publishers the tools they need to attain the user experience they desire.”

The PubTools dashboard lets publishers monitor everything in one view. Publishers are given not only a new level of insight into what sorts of ads individual demand side platforms (DSPs) or exchanges are sending them, but also equips them with the power to take action by turning off any script by simply clicking a button.

“Let’s say an ad exchange is offering ads from partners A, B, and C, but C is calling out to another ten demand partners, and some of them are loading JavaScript, which is slowing down or breaking the page,” Wells said. “With DashBid PubTools, a publisher can turn off only the scripts coming from those 3rd parties without affecting anything else.”

Since its launch in 2013, DashBid has become one the fastest growing independent video supply side platforms (SSPs) in the market. The new addition of DashBid PubTools furthers DashBid’s mission of providing the best monetization solution for publishers by improving DashBid’s suite of tools designed and built for publishers.

Publishers can also use PubTools to turn the new visibility into their own page performance into revenue. PubTools gives publishers access to a broad array of easy to use and effective ad units as well as the ability to bring their own demand and allow their advertisers to buy directly through private market places (PMP). Publishers will be able to show advertisers real images of exactly where their ads were placed on each page as well as all the performance data advertisers demand.

“The innovative offering improves user experience, decreases unauthorized data leakage, decreases fraud, and increases revenue and transparency for both publishers and for brands who want to know more about how and where their programmatic ads are appearing,” says Tom Herman, CEO of DashBid. “We are bringing new levels of transparency to the advertising ecosystem and improved control to publishers.”

We are pleased to announce that DashBid PubTools is currently available in beta release and works across desktop and mobile video. We anticipate a full public release in early Q3 2016.
